Pedestrian zones & public areas

With the high-quality products, ACO has made a significant contribution to the optimization of design space and improvement of space utilization of pedestrian zones as well as public areas, thus improving people's lives.

Our solutions hold a definite place in optimizing the aesthetics and functionality of public spaces.

Usage

When choosing a drainage system, the function and purpose of the public space must be considered. For example, the drainage requirements of water parks and boulevards (or pavements) are quite different from those of pedestrian areas in shopping streets.

For safety reasons, the drainage gratings of the water park should not have too much gap.

Generally speaking, the drains must be non-slip, so that people wearing high heels can walk across it safely.

Interpret drainage from a different perspective

As an integral part of city infrastructure, drains is usually considered as pure functional component filled with dirt. From point of the aesthetics, the role of drains seems to be negligible. In the eyes of many people, drains can be simply used for drainage.

However, in addition to functionality, drains can be decorative. For architects and designers, elegant gratings and illuminated lines can act as interesting design elements.

Durable and beautiful solutions

Brickslot is an elegant solution to drainage, especially suitable for pedestrian zones and public areas. The lines of Brickslot themselves is a kind of design element.

For areas whose requirement of load class up to F900, Qmax provides a good alternative.

Perfect combination of economy and ecology

Through calculations, it is found that the drainage installed near ground is a more economical alternative to the traditional pipeline drainage.

Installation near ground is also more conducive to downstream processing equipment, since the water inlet of downstream equipment will be higher. Besides, this kind of open design is closer to nature, and architects have more ecological and creative choices when designing open spaces.

Mutiline with various gratings

ACO’s innovative Drainlock locking system of V-profile Multiline makes it suitable for most architectural requirements in terms of aesthetics, functionality and load bearing strength. The different gratings can be freely combined independent of the channel bodies and are available for all load classes from A 15 to E 600. The material of the Drainlock gratings should match the frame versions of cast iron, galvanised steel and stainless steel. Using the same material for the frame and the cover provides a uniform visual impression and avoids contact corrosion. ACO’s gratings have received Red Dot Design Award in 2015.

ACO Multiline

Inconspicuousness and prominence are two forms of ground pavement and drainage design.

ACO Brickslot is a subtle and unobtrusive grating. The timeless classical design can be compatible with both modern and historical buildings.

ACO Brickslot

Surface stormwater management

  • Low acquisition and operational costs
  • Less space demand to lower installation cost
  • Optimum accessibility guaranteed for maintenance, cleaning and disposal thanks to removable cage component
  • Implementation of separation effects even when coalescence filter is removed
ACO Oleopator

Stormwater storage and attenuation

Stormbrixx is suitable for:

  • retaining rainwater
  • storing rainwater
  • attenuating infiltration

Unlike tradition solutions, transport cost of Stormbrixx is lower thanks to its stackable body elements, thus reducing CO2 emissions. The space demand in warehouse and construction site can be reduced by more than half as well.

Due to open structure, ACO Stormbrixx systems are fully inspectable and uniquely easy to install and maintain.
